Title: Stance Adjust Keybinding Error Fix
Post by: Sharkey on March 07, 2015, 11:21:22 PM
Hey just a heads up IF you are running into this issue like I was.

I had to create a new profile today to change my profile name.

(RCT Sharkey was not the default profile, so no idea why I can't change the name, but that's another issue)

Anyhow, after creating my new profile PV1 Sharkey, of course I had to redo any settings or keybindings. Did that. Jumped in game to test it out. Everything works EXCEPT, my stance adjustment keys (CTRL+W/S) do nothing. It acts as though I'm just pressing W or S and character moves forward or backward. Only the base stances work. Stand, Crouch, and prone. (Toggle Z and X).

Switched back to previous profile and yeah, stance adjustment works fine.

So after lots a searching, I found the fix... for this particular issue.

In the following file, make the following adjustment:

"C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\YourArmaProfileName\YourArmaProfileName.Arma3Profile"

Open that file in your preferred text editor (Notepad or other)

Find the line that says: keyAdjust[]={};

That should say: keyAdjust[]={29};

If that line already has a 29 in the curly brackets, then you've got a different issue.

PV1 Sharkey

Another person ran into this issue a few days ago. While trying to fix it we discovered that the keybind for the stance modifier was removed from the controls menu in this recent Arma update. Nice work finding the manual way to change it.

For changing your profile name, I've noticed that I need to switch to another profile before it will let me edit the name of 506th profile.

Is the key configuration for this not in the menu anymore???? I wanted to change the stance adjust keys to my thumb buttons on my mouse to be able to quickly adjust stance up and down in a way that didn't require ASWD keys.

My ctrl-p and ctrl-tab aren't working for TFAR, you think something like this could be the same issue?

I followed the instructions for this, restarted my game, and my stance is still not working for some reason.

Did you try changing your profile again?

The editing of KeyBinds in your config folder should have worked - double check it if nothing else is working.

Not sure, maybe someone can walk me through this tonight on teamspeak.  I should be home in about 45 minutes or an hour.

Thanks
