Title: Arma 3 server host recommendations
Post by: Yordy on April 27, 2015, 08:34:10 PM
Looking for a reasonably priced provider for a 20-40 slot server. Also looking for a provider that has the ability to roll back its servers version of arma to 1.40.
What do y'all recommend

FPS servers and Branzone servers are good and cheap but I don't know if they rollback.

Is this the new or old provider?

Also, @Yordy: could this be your aviation server? And if so... dogfight club?

https://www.gameservers.com

I logged a support ticket once the server was created and asked for a 1.4 rollback, it took 2+hours but no questions asked :-)

They have never gone from NFO. They have just changed service. Instead of gameserver, they now have a viritual server :)

Jeez, the bang-for-buck ratio with NFO seems good enough that I'm tempted to get a server for literally no reason. </shill>

https://jestservers.com/panel/aff.php?aff=185 (https://jestservers.com/panel/aff.php?aff=185) Literally the best Server company I know of and I went all of them around 2 years ago to see who I'd like the most. Jestservers were the best.

They're pricey dont get me wrong, But their service is second to none, I don't think I waited longer than 20 minutes for a ticket response, They know a lot about ArmA as well. And the servers are hosted on their own box, hence the price. But it means you will almost never see a performance drop.

I've been on the receiving/admin end with both Jest Servers, and FPSplayers.

As 1LT Whitby said, Jest is rather expensive, but the quality of server and tech support is fantastic (especially if you're an Arma admin noob). FPSplayers is what SSG 2LT Johnston and I run the Mechanized server on, and it's done us very well. Their tech support has always done us well, and when our server was DDoS'ed, they sorted it right out.

There are several hosting companies you can go through, and unless you're running task force level stuff, it may not matter greatly. I think a lot more people use NFO/FPSplayers, so were you to have technical trouble, you may have a greater resource within the unit, to pull from.

I myself have hosted plenty of different servers and even have one now. NFO servers is the best option hands down https://www.nfoservers.com/order-virtual-dedicated-server.php. Go for a 4 core depending on the number of games that should be good for what you need. You need to install this http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=11655 and have a copy of arma 3 installed. If you want help my steam name is Magrene if you need help.

You dont really need a copy of ArmA. Just go on server tools in the steam library section, and you will find ArmA 3 server. That is completely free.

I disagree with you on that part Magrene. But anyhow 2ndLt Yordy, you have a ton of options to choose from. All comes down to how much you want to pay :)

I think its just a matter of circumstance. I've found that different people have different experiences with arma servers. It seems to depend on mods and other factors.

Hi, i know this might be a bit late to reply but this might help people in the future to find an affordable host.
Here is my favorite arma 3 host (http://nazeboo.com/arma-3-server-hosting/) site. At the moment there are 20 hosts with prices starting at 0.60$/slot without coupon.
