Title: RCT needs help with mods...
Post by: SGT (Ret) Blakeslee on December 15, 2015, 09:40:43 PM
Let me preface this by saying I followed the installation video, installed things while going along with the video, to ensure everything was done properly. Now, on to the problem. When I load up Arma, all of the mods load up fine, and show on the main screen as being there. Just to test it out, I went to multiplayer, and clicked on 2 or 3 different 506th servers, and all of them showed that I didn't have some of the required mods. Mods I DL'ed, and installed following the video. No error messages show up, or anything like that. Just shows a red light, instead of green next to the required mods.

Can you actually join the server despite the red light?

I don't know the password to any of them.

Right. Just to make sure, are you running the latest version of ArmA or rolled back to 1.52? We're currently rolled back due to mod issues.

If that's the case, then you shouldn't have any problems. Some unofficial servers have 'outside' mods that you don't need unless you play on there and even the official server for me shows red lights on some mods even though I know my mods are running fine. If you get to recruit training and there's a problem your instructor will be able to help you pinpoint the problem but as long as you've done everything right I doubt you'll have any issues.

Yah the RCTs who take it this seriously are rarely the ones with issues.  As above, don't go by the red-light/green-light server stats - those can be misleading.  If you load ARMA and see all the mod icons toward the bottom of the Main screen, chances are you'll be fine.

And if not, that's what the first day of OSUT's for - sorting mod issues.  Don't stress, I bet you're all squared away.

No, mods are, and have always been part of RCT training. Baring any server updates, there should be zero conflicts moving from RCT Training to OSUT.

In the 506 mod folder their should be a folder called userconfig drag that into your arma 3 directory

If you're still getting the error you can manuallydownload the user config file here http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=26932.

You will be able to test your mods at recruit training.

Yes the assault server would be the best place

Thanks for the correction LT,
For a second I had blood shooting out of my eyes.

The assault server is probably the second best choice, but it does run additional maps outside AiA that might prohibit recruits from joining. Your safest best is during your phase 1 training.
