All About the 506th
Dateline: 20 January, 2016
After a long, hard fought battle in Chernarus, the 506th finally got the reprieve they needed for some rest and relaxation. We here at the NNA got an exclusive look at the 506th, following them from the end of their deployment in Chernarus, to their training center in the South Pacific. The 506th graciously let us tag along and witness training that they performed over the course of a few weeks.

Speaking with a few of the unit’s members, we got an inside look at the atmosphere and emotions surrounding the unit as a whole. “The battle in Chernarus was a tough battle, but it is an even better feeling to know that we completed our mission, and the country can begin to rebuild” SGT McAllister recalled as he reminisced about his time there. Fresh out of OSUT before the deployment, SGT McAllister now leads a weapons team on one of the unit’s fiercest platoons. Another member of the unit stated that it was the communication and coordination between the supporting assets and the main effort that spearheaded their successes in Chernarus. “We were fighting in a heavily temperate area, when we were used to fighting in places like Takistan. Takistan was an easier battleground to fight on because we could see everything for miles, while the trees and mountains of Chernarus required an increased effort to utilize our assets.”
As we followed the 506th to their training center, we got to see and experience exactly what it was like to be a part of the unit. We witnessed the strength and unity that every member has within the unit, and the connection that these members have among themselves. After just a few short weeks, we were able to understand why the 506th is so successful…teamwork and dedication. Where ever we see the 506th in action next, we can be confident that they will get the job done.
