One year ago today, U.S. Forces launched a campaign that would ultimately lead to the restoration of freedom in the country of Chernarus. The first official action of Operation Red Anvil involved the 506th Infantry Regiment securing almost the entire southern tip of Podagorsk, with the town of Kovrov being the first landmark victory for the Regiment. It wasn't all victory and success in the beginning of this deployment. Soon after the initial victory at Kovrov, a task force of U.S. Forces was ambushed and boxed in to what military officials are calling a Kill Zone. The RPLA mounted a brutal and unforgiving offensive against the American troops, inciting one of the worst defeats that the U.S. Forces suffered through the entire campaign. Ten U.S. Service members were killed, defending and fighting for a seemingly unknown country in Eastern Europe, so that the people of Podagorsk and Chernarus would be able to live their lives in peace. To commemorate the beginning of the struggle, President Noskov of Chernarus has flown out to Podagorsk to give a speech at the Kovrov cemetery and dedicate a new monument to the fallen U.S. Soldiers of Operation Red Hammer.

President Noskov said the following in his remembrance speech.
We've all struggled. We all went through hardship and suffered heartache. We lost friends and loved ones to the furious conflict that raged throughout Chernarus and Podagorsk. But unlike the brave men and women in the 506th, this our home. We have a special connection and obligation to defend our homes and keep peace and freedom alive for future generations. But for them, on a personal standpoint, the countries of Chernarus and Podagorsk have no meaning, no value. Yet they came here and sacrificed their very lives so that we could have our freedom. They did it because they believed it was the right thing to do. People like this are hard to come by and I am, personally and on behalf of Chernarus, grateful to call the men and women of the 506th Infantry Regiment our friends.
As per request, the members of the 506th IR that were killed in action during Operation Red Anvil are listed below, as a testament to their bravery and dedication to the cause of freedom.
