Erzikistan Backs Out of Trade Agreements
International News - Dateline 06APR16

One of Erzikistan's biggest export shipping facilities is nearly empty after the government backed out of a number of trade agreements.

Today, out of Erzikistan, officials are confirming that Erzikistan will be backing out of a number of trade agreements.  While we do not yet know the reasoning, analysts report that this may be an effort to help establish a more centralized economy.  The decision to back out of trade agreements has stunned the international community, as this could be a hint that Erzikistan may now be on the verge of an economic collapse.

Recent strikes in Erzikistan have caused the production of steel, and more importantly their export of machinery and transport equipment, to come to a grinding halt.  These exports are vital to the economy of Erzikistan.  Currently, the only source of steel being produced by the Erzikistani’s is being produced by the means of forced labor through their prison system.  As debt and unemployment continue to rise, Erzikistan will have to start making the right decisions to recover from this economic downturn.

Exactly how is the international community planning on approaching this problem?  Interest in the region is very high due to the trade of oil and energy throughout the region.  If Erzikistan were to destabilize further, it could have serious implications on the global market by disrupting trade in the region and putting the interests of many countries at risk.  This geopolitical hotspot continues to catch the attention of many, and we here at International Times will continue to update you with the latest information.
