[ACCEPTED] Stockdale Application
« on: February 02, 2015, 07:11:56 PM »
First Name: Dunn
Last Name: Stockdale
Age: 22
Desired Duty Assignment: 11B Infantry

ArmA III Player ID: 76561198012942280

How long have you been playing ArmA III?: 2 years.
Are you currently a member of an ArmA III gaming clan or unit?: No.
Why do you want to join the 506th Infantry Regiment Realism Unit?: I've recently left a unit called Dog Company. In this unit, I've filled several leadership billets, ranging from fire team leader, squad leader, and platoon sergeant. My vision of this unit was for it to be a strict milsim unit, mirroring existing TTPs and battle drills currently in use by the U.S. Army. However, the general opinion was that DC should be focused more on fun coop, and less on this strict milsim. Realizing I could never convice the unit to go down this path, I decided to leave. My resignation went without any drama, and there are still many people in there I would consider good friends. However, I'm simply looking for another experience, and the 506th seems to deliver this experience very well. As a matter of fact, I have always regarded the 15th MEU, and the subsequent 506th very highly, and I would like to be a part of this. The fact that the 506th mirrors the U.S. Army, rather than the USMC, makes this even better! I currently have an application running for the Dutch Marines OCS--a branch which resembles the British Royal Marines a lot. I've read several field manuals (ATP 3-21.8, ATP 3-21.10), but am still looking to learn a lot. As I understand it, the 506th has many former and active duty members. Being able to interact with these people means a lot to me, as they set an example I could learn a lot from. Being Dutch (GMT +1) could potentially limit my availability, but as my roster for college stands right now--having the Monday off--there should be no problem attending the Sunday operations at all.

If you have elected either rotary wing pilot or fighter pilot, if all billets are full by the time you finish the training pipeline, you may have to go infantry for the time being. Do you understand this?: Yes.

Please check your user profile and ensure that the email address you registered with is correct. Have you done this?: Yes.

Do you understand the definition of realism gaming according to the 506th realism unit, and is this the type of realism experience you desire and are willing to abide by?: Yes.

Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit and the criteria for being active and taking a billet in this unit and that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserve platoon?: Yes.

You understand the fact that this unit is a EST (GMT -5) time zone based unit, and the attendance requirements of operations on Sundays at 2000 EST (0100 GMT)?: Yes.
