ArmA3Sync or ArmA2Launcher
« on: February 03, 2015, 08:42:52 AM »
I currently use PlaywithSIX, however sometimes when loading into official servers, even with all my mods in check I get error messages. After Hayes made this announcement: http://www.506thir.net/forums/index.php?topic=2410.msg11410#msg11410 I am thinking I should finally follow the advice of 9/10 people I speak to about this, and move to a different launcher.

I have used ArmA2Launcher in the past, and it seemed simple and easy to use from the get-go. So my question is: Is there any additional benefits to be had from using ArmA3Sync over the ArmA2Launcher, or is there no real benefit / loss either which launcher I use?

You can use a repository to auto-update your mods with Sync, but I'll be honest, I prefer to do it myself, so I use A3L.

I've used Arma3Sync since I joined the 15th in January of 2014.  Now with the repository system set up, when things get updated or changed it tells you when you open the program and it's 2 clicks to get completely updated.  I always double check things but it's easy to use and you can set up multiple profiles and combinations of mods for official 506th stuff and personal stuff so it's easy to switch from one to the other kind of game.

I've never had any experience with any of the other launchers but Arma3Sync seems to work very well for me.

Thanks for your responses. I think I will try Sync before going back to A2L.
