Theater/Strategic-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
- No updates or change in status.
Local/Tactical-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
- NWRC and militant forces in the eastern valley have been routed to the areas east of an elevated and fortified military position, which has been designated as COP WINSTON. This position sits centrally over the southern part of the AO and provides a distinct tactical advantage to indirect fires due to its view of the western valley along the Khanabad River- and in particular, against any sort of maneuver made against the fortified positions in and around the communities that make up Zor-Khalata. The eastern approach to this outpost is the only means of conventional approach, and highly dangerous if its defenders are able to bring all of their weapons to bear against the eastern road.
- S-2 is finalizing intel packets for the company regarding the area of operations in Severkuldzha, as well as a detailed analysis of COP WINSTON. These packets will be disseminated in the next 24-48 hours.
Special Info/Patrol Objective-specific Intelligence
- 1st PLT's objective today comes at a critical point in operations throughout the southern Kirov area- the collection of village communities throughout this area of the Khanabad River marks the beginning of the battalion's final maneuvers to definitively disrupt NWRC-organized forces in this part of the AO. By sweeping and clearing the hostile-held villages south and southeast of Kot Sobharo, 1st PLT will pave the way for 2nd PLT to push further south, forcing the NWRC to commit more forces and attention to defending from the eventual assault of Zor-Khalata, forcing movement on their end and enabling us to catch more of their fighters in the open rather than in a prepared position.
