Setting secondary EST Clock on PC
« on: March 20, 2015, 07:07:44 AM »

Troopers,

With many of us living outside of the unit's standard time-zone of EST (or EDT), it can take some getting used to when scheduling for trainings and operations to account for the difference in time-zones. However, there is a simple way to get a second clock on your PC (see image 1 below) which should help with planning for these events.

Image 1

To get this secondary clock, click on Change date time and settings... as highlighted in the image, and you should get another interface (image 2, though bear in mind I am using Windows 8. May be slightly different with W7).

Click on the "Additional Clocks" tab and the rest is kind of self-explanatory. Simply click on the box "Show this clock" and it will give you several time-zone options to choose from. It should automatically adjust for Daylight time, so just set it up with the normal time-zone. Click apply once you're done, and then OK and you should be good to go.

Of course, there is always the forum's own clock, located beneath your username on the top-left of the page which is set to the unit's standard time. This post shouldn't in any way detract from the great effort that people like SFC Nagel put into these forums to make things easier for us, this is just something to hopefully help some people out!

Sweet. Anyone know of a way to have both times show simultaneously in the taskbar together instead of time and date? I'd like to remove the date and have PST time and EST time both showing.
