mods suck sometimes

okay, ive been having trouble with my mods, ironically, the day after recruit training, a.k.a day two, as opposed to day one. i have no idea what ive done to cause this, but i think i may have gotten it under control. however, when i launch the game in version 1.42, i get a peculiar error, namely:
 Addon 'Aia_Afghan_Config' requires addon 'AiA_Afghan_Data'
does anyone know if this is normal, or expected? i can get into the game, it seems, which is a start, but im unsure if its still broken or not. if it is in fact broken, any accurate help in the solving of this issue would be great, seeing as how mod issues have plagued me enough to almost get recycled, and i do not intend on wasting a month trying to fix mods, of all things.

The version we are using right now is 1.40. The switch to 1.42 will not be made until battalion determines that the mods we use are all updated to new versions that will support 1.42. The switch is on schedule to be made at the end of April. Hang in there, once the mod issues are sorted out you shouldn't have issues again. This is why we wait for orders to upgrade, it makes it easy to confirm that we are all on the same page.

hot damn, that was a fast response! thanks for the advice, managed to forget that bit of data! will roll back my arma and see how it works. btw, are the non official servers being run on 1.40?

There are a couple of unofficial servers, like the insurgency server for instance that are on 1.42. As far as I know all the ops and training servers are on 1.40.

hmmm, now that ive rolled it back, same error, but not it just crashes, doesnt even load....

I am not a mod expert, but from what i see it is an All in Arma problem.  You can try and load into every AiA map and see if it works, if not it may have been a problem with the way you installed the hotfixs and such for AiA. Or it got corrupted during the download.  Once again not a mod guys the way I solve my problems is re-installing till the damn thing works but I also have never have problems  like that.

gotcha. well, when i launch from file it doesnt even load the darn maps from AiA, or the mod itself, so thank you for clearing that up! mind telling me where you downloaded your AiA from, for some reason my computer takes ages to download anything, so i would rather not waste time!
