Podagorsk medical and security forces have secured the crash siteDateline 6th of May 2015- Northern Podagorsk
Wednesday, the French Armed Forces confirmed that one of their C-130J aircraft has gone down in Northern Podagorsk. The spokesperson for the French Chief of Staff, Arthur Emmanuelli, confirmed that the aircraft was on a training mission with Podagorsk paratroopers. Emmanuelli said the following.
"Aujourd'hui, je dois malheureusement informer le monde que l'un de nos avions C-130 a baissé au cours du Nord Podagorsk . L'avion était sur une mission de formation avec des parachutistes Podagorsk . Tous les passagers et membres d'équipage de l'avion ont été récupérés, et, malheureusement, il n'y a pas de survivants . 45 parachutistes français , 8 membres d'équipage et 45 parachutistes français Podagorsk ont été perdus dans l'accident . L'expérience montre que un vérin hydraulique dans l'aile gauche , qui aide à contrôler l'un des volets , explosé en raison d'une panne mécanique alors que l'avion était dans l'air . L'explosion ultérieure soufflé toute l'aile de l'avion en l'air . Le monde entier grâce à ces soldats pour leur aide dans la libération du peuple Podagorsk , et d'aider à faire du monde un meilleur endroit.""Today I must regrettably inform the world that one of our C-130 Aircraft went down over Northern Podagorsk. The aircraft was on a training mission with Podagorsk paratroopers, and unfortunately there are no survivors. 45 French paratroopers, 8 French crew members and 45 Podagorsk paratroopers were lost in the crash. Evidence shows that a hydraulic cylinder in the left wing, that helps control one of the flaps, exploded due to a mechanical fault while the plane was in the air. The subsequent explosion blew the entire wing off the plane while in the air. Names of those lost will be released once all evidence has been collected, and family members have been notified. The entire world thanks these soldiers for their help in liberating the Podagorsk people, and helping make the world a better place.”The crash marks the largest loss of life of NATO forces in Podagorsk since intervention began, the previous being an American task force being lost, which resulted in many casualties and 12 Americans taken prisoners.
Intervention in Podagorsk began last February when NATO forces intervened against the RPLA who attacked the peninsula from their native Chernarus. The NATO intervention, primarily spearheaded by American forces, was also supported by British and French forces. Other NATO countries provided supplies and humanitarian aid. This large loss of life brings light to the French dedication to the Podagorsk conflict. While the French Government and Military still support the cause, polling in France shows that only 34% of the public support the operation. Positive opinion quickly dropped when a French Pilot was shot down over the country, and had his life threatened multiple times in released videos from the RPLA. The pilot was eventually rescued by American Forces.
Security operations in Chernarus has gone surprisingly well over the last two months, when primary combat operations ended. Since then, a few RPLA soldiers trapped in country have been rooted out, and things have largely been quiet. While American combat troops have pulled out months ago, American engineers have taken up the task of rebuilding infrastructure in the country. The only thing slowing down rebuilding is the Northern terrain. Americans are having trouble getting supplies and personnel to the Northern part of the countries due to the harsh terrain, and wet spring climate that bogs down roads. British forces, have been tasked with securing the border between Podagorsk, Russia and Chernarus. However, British forces have been steadily drawing down and replaced with Podagorsk Soldiers. France has been primarily training Podagorsk armed forces.
