Fort Campbell, KY - United States
The soldiers of the 506th Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion will be enjoying warm meals with their families this holiday season. As of December 15th 1st Battalion was relieved and placed on "holiday stand-down," this stand-down period gives battalion command the much needed time to re-organize, and prepare for the coming deployment. Much needs to be done in the way of logistics and training to get a battalion ready for a full scale deployment, and the holidays is a perfect time to put new leaders into their positions and briefly train before testing them on the battlefield.
Bravo Company is happy to announce two new platoon leaders; 2LT O'Keefe & 2LT Smith will be taking over command of Spartan-1 and Spartan-2, we wish them the best of luck in their new positions. Both are very professional, well respected individuals and bring out nothing but the best in their soldiers.
The soldiers of the 506th, while they are enjoying the holidays have a lot in front of them to look forward to, and have trained extensively. The 506th plans to step off the new year strong overseas and provide support when, and wherever needed.
Happy holidays from all at the 506th Infantry Regiment!
