Recurring issues with the M249 [SOLVED]
« on: September 07, 2016, 12:47:54 AM »
I've been having a recurring issue with the M249. Earlier today it was the 3rd time it has happened to me. When using the weapon, after a few minutes, it glitches (best way I can describe it), the rounds hit the ground directly in front of me. Not even 1 meter in front of me. I first encountered this in the VR Arsenal, while testing out the loadout after BCT. Then on 2 consecutive days on the Patrol Ops server.

I just want to know if it's just me having this problem, or if it's happened to someone else. Also, if there's a fix for this. I've had plenty of practice with the M320 M4 (Patrol Ops), but I don't want to limit myself or my future squad lead/fireteam lead if they need me to be the AR on the fireteam.

PV1 Gerhardt,

That is indeed an odd bug. Have you tried different variants of the m249?
I'm not sure if the m249's we use are from the RHSUSAF mod or the 506th mod pack, but you may consider re-downloading and installing those again to see if it fixes the issue.

Ok, so I figured out what the issue was.
Since, in the Fun Ops its not necessary to run the official kits, I've been running my own variation. Using the wrong ammo though.

The one on the ground is the type I've been using, The one currently loaded is the type authorized. Didn't shoot any "blanks" with the authorized ammunition. Not the case with the "wrong" type. Though as to why it happened after trying out my BCT kit, is beyond me, but I fired 6 boxes of the proper type, and didn't have any issues at all.

Thanks PFC Carter for your reply. My apologies for any concern caused by this.

5.56 m200 are literally blanks.
I guess that would cause a bit of a problem lol.

Ladies never like a guy that's shooting blanks. Good thing you figured it out.
