When you attend a RCT Training class, and complete Phase I Training, you will sign up for Phase II Training; OSUT.
There you will learn how to utilize the radio, everything you need to know will be covered by the OSUT Instructor.
*EDIT: While going into Phase II of Training you will have acces to the 506th Student Reference Document, which also covers all the basics your Instructor will be going over while in the Training pipeline.
