NSLAF FIXED-WING ASSETS DESTROYED

(TS) US Navy SEALs conducted a raid against Hatton Airbase in the far south of OPFOR-controlled territory to destroy NSLAF fixed-wing aircraft. The mission was conducted via amphibious assault. Initial resistance was fierce, but BLUFOR was able to call in naval gunfire support and assault the airbase. Before OPFOR aviation assets were ordered to scramble and withdraw their aircraft, BLUFOR destroyed 3x JAS-39 Grippen Multirole Fighters along with their ground compliments, including munitions and fuel. BLUFOR successfully completed the raid upon Hatton Airbase, withdrew to awaiting naval platforms, and moved beyond line-of-sight of the OPFOR reinforcements sent to Hatton Airbase. Complete tactical surprise was achieved; there were no BLUFOR KIAs.

(S) Further analysis of the operation by S-2 indicates that the OPFOR scramble order was at least partially successful in withdrawing some aviation assets from Hatton Airbase. Upon first assault of the airbase by the SEALs, NSLAF rotary aircraft lifted and were relocated to FARP Aydon and southwest to inland Chernarus. Furthermore, at the time of the assault, several OPFOR fighter aircraft were conducting routine patrols to the northwest against continued Ukrainian incursions; these assets were similarly given the order to relocate to OPFOR airbases further inland. Recent aerial reconnaissance and electronic intercepts from the NSLAF indicate to S-2 that the majority of the displaced rotary assets from Hatton Airbase will be redistributed to other fronts in the Chernarus campaign. With BLUFOR aerial supremacy established, S-2 concludes OPFOR aviation platforms will rarely be deployed in the future, but can be utilized by OPFOR in desperate circumstances.
