DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

DEFENSE PENTAGON, WASHINGTON, DC
24 SEPTEMBER 2020

426th Brigade Support Battalion MIA

(TS) During the NSLA assault of Berezino, engineers from the 426th BSB were still in active construction of the new COP that 1 BCT HQ was establishing in town. Taken by surprise by the assault, all US forces scrambled to secure an evacuation route and ensure sensitive materials were destroyed. Once the majority of Co B\1-506 IR had withdrawn, Sappers from 426th BSB set demolition charges on the remaining stockpiles and structures within the COP to deny the NSLA access to these materials. During this time, their position became enveloped and Co B\1-506 IR was unable to make enough headway in their counter-attack to facilitate a rescue mission. At this stage, several elements of the 426th BSB have failed to make contact with 1 BCT HQ and are classified as Missing In Action.  While they are not officially classified as Prisoners of War at this time, S-2 believes that designation will likely be used in the near future.

(TS) IMINT tasking of Berezino is very limited as the 39th Air Base Wing has yet to set up persistent monitoring and surveillance capabilities over Chernarus. However, during the assault, the 39th did secure the enclosed photographs. The IMINT seem to show armed personnel being detained and securely moved by OPFOR. However, the identity of these personnel is unconfirmed.

(TS) All BLUFOR entities are hereby advised to exercise extreme caution in PID of OPFOR.
