A-10 Controls
« on: February 03, 2021, 06:44:26 PM »
I'm having trouble understanding where to find certain keybinds. I'm trying to bind my 8-way hat to move the TGP, but I can't find where to bind that. I've tried all of the options under "view" but nothing allows me to manipulate the camera. Do I have to have the TGP selected as my weapon type in order to enable the laser or can I bind the laser to something else so I can enable/disable it while I have a different munition selected. What settings do I need to bind in order to effectively utilize the weapon systems on an A-10. Do I need auto-vectoring?

Auto-vecorting will not be used for the A-10 as that is for aircraft that are able to takeoff vertically.

You will also need the sniper xr pod on one of your pylons of the a-10 to have the laser designator capability. You will then have to cycle through the types of munitons your aircraft is currently loaded out with till you see the laser designator option then you can turn it on and move it around to paint an enemy tank. You can also lock onto other lasers from other sources as well and launch weapons at them.

Bind "Target Camera" under the common settings for the TGP. Reason I say that is because there is another binding that will bring up the camera as well, but wont let you control it. I have my camera slew binded in each direction "Look left, right, down,up,  then left up, etc etc." under the view settings.

Sniper pod and litening pod have the same functions, litening pod is more "realism" to use if you want to be ultra hardcore with it.

In order to use the laser, you need to switch weapons until you hit the TGP weapon selection, then turn on the laser with the fire button, then cycle back to your desired weapon after. Same process to kill the laser.

I recommend a button to bind to "Increase thrust" that is separate from your actual thrust. Reason being is that for whatever reason if you pull up TADs (ctablet aircraft equivalent) that you select options with a mouse, your thrust will be thrown to 0% and you will eventually lawn dart into the ground. If you hit the bound "Increase thrust" button right before you open up something that takes mouse input, it will maintain SOME thrust (usually 30ish%).

I didn't realize that you could pull the camera up with a different bind. Thank you
