Arma 3 Losing Connection
« on: December 31, 2014, 06:22:16 PM »
I have an intermittent problem.  It started about 3 weeks ago while playing Day Z Epoch.  It stopped for a while, after I had my internet serviced.  It has started up again after this past weekend's OPs in Arma 3.  It does effect both Arma and Day Z Epoch.

What happens is I connect then start loosing connection for 10-15 secs.. this continues about every 1 to 2 mins.  I also have very stuttering movement in game.

I just switched internet providers this afternoon and it is still doing it.  It only does it for Arma and nothing else, and when it happens it kills my internet including teamspeak.  I checked my files on this computer and it came back fine.

Any ideas on what the cause of this is?

What kind of Anti-virus do you have?

Try to exclude arma3.exe checking trough your Anti -Virus. See if that helps :-)

have you tried to swap to another connection? for instance jacking it directly into the wall or using a switch / another router?

Found this :
[96888] New: New MP bandwidth control algorithm available through commandline option -bandwidthAlg=2

What this means is that the game will better manage the connections it allows itself to make and thus not overload your router making you lose your connection to the internet. To apply this new setting you need to add it to the starting commands.

Does this Command still work on the current build?
