Ft. Bragg, NC POC needed
« on: April 10, 2015, 09:00:15 AM »
Hey guys, I don't play Arma but I have been an avid video watched for months now. I am a prior service E-5 Parachute Infantry Regiment member with 3 OIF/OEF experiences and have received a CIB from each of those missions. I would like to get a contact in the Fort Bragg, NC area to help me understand better how to play. Can anyone forward me a POC...? Thanks

If you are former member of the Army or former military then you would know the regulation on awards, please refer to AR 670-1 and other regulations regarding the CIB.  I'm going to go ahead and call you out right now on your subsequent awards of the CIB.  Per regulation,  you may only be granted one CIB for a qualifying period.  OEF/OIF/OND are all the same qualifying period, Global War on Terrorism; therefore unless you served in Persian Gulf, Somalia, etc and Korea before that, there is no way you could receive three CIB's.  Further, the CIB is on the list of awards that you can be charged with a federal crime under Stolen Valor if you use the claim for any sort of monetary gain.  For a short version of regulations please refer to https://www.hrc.army.mil/tagd/awards%20and%20decorations%20branch%20-%20combat%20infantry%20badge%20cib for a brief overview of CIB's with particular attention to Question 4 and subsequent awards. Also, the Army keeps a record of those individuals who have been awarded three CIB's.

If you truly have served and been awarded the CIB, than I thank you for your service.

That's why I said received and not awarded. You used awarded. CIBx3 was in reference to being actively involved in combat every time I deployed (TIC). That is to say, that if you would have taken every one of my deployments separately I would have been awarded a CIB on each of them.  That makes it clear that I was a shooter and not a FOBBIT. Since the people here are not all military it was a way to explain myself. Since we're at it I held the position of senior sniper in a Scout PLT while deployed (CIB #3) and a free fall team member in the 82nd DIV. All on my ERB. Feel free to look at them if you wish and like (it would make an apology that much sweeter). But my point was to have a contact in the Bragg area...do you have any? Thanks

Welp that escalated quickly. We all understand that everyone's "pride" needs measured sometimes. I am going to go ahead and flag this post to be reviewed for closing. Greybeard, if you are looking for some one to teach you the basics of how to play arma, our training staff are excellent instructors. I am not sure about if any of them are near Ft. Bragg but to be honest they can do just as good of a job via tea speak. Please see our forums for more information on that.
