Erzikistan Forces Leaving the International Airport
After a two week siege of the Erzikistan International Airport and surrounding facilities, the occupying Erzikistani forces have chosen to walk away without a fight. Not that this came as much of a surprise to anyone as, without pay and proper motivation, Erzikistani forces have no motivation to fight the rising Erzikistan Republic. Once their immediate food supplies ran out, the occupying forces packed up their personal belongings and left, presumably for their homes. All of the military equipment left behind has been seized for use by the Erzikistan Republic. The capture of this military equipment, however, calls into question the logistics of the ER being able to actually deploy them in combat. As most of the fighters for the Erzikistan Republic come from farming and hunting backgrounds, they will most likely not posses any knowledge or skill of helicopter or jet operations. Despite this, many ER soldiers have been selected for programs that will instruct them in the tactics and operation of their newly acquired assets. The Erzikistan Republic's Council has refused to comment on who their instructors will be, however, experts believe that they will either be former Erzikistani pilots or Iranian instructors who will have been flown over in secret.

Meanwhile, the ER's Grand Council has been hard at work enacting new documentation regulating international travel, as well as making the first steps toward establishing relations and treaties with foreign nations. Hakim Ragesh, a prominent member of the Council and the creator of the Kartel Gazetesi, said the following when asked about their attempts to reach out to nearby nations,
We [the ER] have established ourselves as a proper government. We are not some militant group running about in the mountains and blowing ourselves up. We are a real country fighting for our freedom with real soldiers and citizens who support us. To move forward in the world and become involved as a recognized country, we need support and recognition from other established countries.
Onder Sezen, another prominent member of the Council, commented that the they [the Grand Council] are preparing to vote on some legislation that will allow Erzikistan citizens to officially become citizens of the Erzikistan Republic. This legislation is supposed to provide benefits for ER citizens living in ER controlled areas and motivate the fence-sitters to move over to the side of the Erzikistan Republic.
