Laptop WiFi issue

So, I have a Lenovo Y50-70 gaming laptop.  I don’t use it for ArmA or gaming in general anymore since I purchased my Alienware Aurora R8 tower, but it is still a great laptop.  My issue is with my WiFi adaptor.  At home, I use AT&T Uverse internet.  When I log on using WiFi, after a few minutes the WiFi adaptor will shut off.  I have changed it so that it Windows cant shut it down, and done most of the fixes that I’ve found online.  When it’s shut off, I can go into settings and click enable, and it won’t re-enable.  Then, if I try to shut down, it won’t shut down.  I have to hard reset it.  The weird thing is, it works perfectly on every WiFi network except home.  All other WiFi devices work fine at home.  Laptops, SmartTVs, tablets, etc.  So I don’t believe the modem or router is bad.

I would think that it was the WiFi card itself, except, like i said, it works perfectly on any other network I try.  Just not this particular modem/router combo.  I don’t know if it just doesn’t like the Uverse WiFi gateway or what.  A new WiFi card is only 15 bucks, but I don’t want to buy a new one if it’s a compatibility issue with the router.  If I plug it into Ethernet, it works fine with no issues, but that kind of defeats the mobility of the laptop.  I was hoping someone out there has heard of this issue and could help out.

What internet speeds does your network support?  Does the wifi adapter support those speeds? 

EXAMPLE:  You have 400 down, 20 up.  Your wifi card is only 10/100 and cant support higher than 100 speeds.  That tends to fuck with wifi cards and Ethernet adapters.

I'm not running high speeds.  Like 45 down and 6 up based on my latest speed test.

The strange part is, it worked fine on this network until the October Windows 10 update.

Yes I've updated them, and I even uninstalled the drivers and downloaded them again.

Does the logs of the router in question  or the windows logs of the laptop show any connection  or authentification errors? If no, did u tried to capture wlan adapters data with wireshark from login to the point of disconnect? That's the questions without knowing any detail of ur HW and how u describe ur issue.

The HW restart indicates it's a issue from the wlan device of the laptop itself causing it to freeze during communication.

Additionally I'm almost sure the issue is not speed related.

And this is the point where I get lost. Lol. I really don’t know how to check the logs on either for these issues. About the best I can do troubleshooting wise is run the windows troubleshooter which as I’m sure you know sucks.

Well, u are in need of someone who knows what he is doing either a friend or a payed it guy. The cheapest way, imho, is to connect via ethernet cable at the specific location.

Google has a ton of that info but u need to invest time.
