Optional Mod List

I was wondering if there was an optional mod list and if I could get it. Been looking though the forums and can't find it.

There's no listing of secondary mods because they aren't allowed.  In the repository, there is STHUD and the Shack Tac Stamina Bar which are fine as far as I know.  Dragonfyre is also in the repository but there has been discussion about it here http://www.506thir.net/forums/index.php?topic=1775.0.  There's a post from CPT Drumheller that it's not know if Dragonfyre impacts server performance so it has not been approved. 

The only approved mods when taking part in an official 506th mission are here: http://www.506thir.net/forums/index.php?topic=142.0

When and if additional mods are approved, you'll see it posted in the above official mod list.

That's my understanding anyway.

I'm not in Command Staff or the Mod Team, and PFC Brewer already covered it, but I just want to underline it for anyone else who reads this post:

Only run the mods listed in the 506th MOD UPDATES thread. ArmA works in mysterious ways, and while a mod may be client-side, that is not a guarantee that the mod won't negatively affect server performance or have serious conflicts with other mods. During the FTX last weekend there were 12 people running JSRS Dragonfyre on one of the servers, and while it may not have fucked anything up a week ago, it could in the future.

The only client-side mods I would even consider running are, as PFC Brewer said, the STHUD and Stamina Bar. Most members of the unit use and have used these for a long time, and, as far as I know, there has not been any issues or conflicts related to them.

I've played ArmA long enough to know that one mod or small .pbo can cause a lot of issues, so please just stick to what is unit-wide approved.

Why is dragonfire in the repository? It is specifically not allowed.

I can't answer why it's in the repository Captain.  JSRS was in there before Dragonfyre came out and I've just known not to use it.

I believe that PV2 Miller maintains the repository.  It's a great way to keep on top of things as long as it's kept current and he's done a great job making updates right after the mod thread is updated.  So I'd like to keep it as an option if at all possible.

I have removed it from optional mods when I got information that it was not approved

Now that I've spoken with PV2 Miller, the guy that keeps the repository up to date, JSRS Dragonfyre(JSRS 3) is NOT on the repository. JSRS 2.2 IS on the repository. They are NOT the same mod.

JSRS 2.2 is authorized as a client-side mod. JSRS 3(Dragonfyre) is NOT authorized. It throws RPT errors to the server.

You can use both.

Allowed:
-Shacktac HUD
-Shacktac HUD User Menu
-Shacktac Stamina
-Shacktac Map Autobrightness
-Tao Folding Map
-Compass and watch enlarger
-Mid-range texture replacer

Specifically Disallowed:
-Blastcore(all versions)
-Speed of Sound
-JSRS 2.2
-JSRS 3(Dragonfyre)
-MrF Rangefinder MkII
-Shacktac Group Indicators(This comes packaged with ST HUD so make sure you remove it)

That is all. If you are running any client-side mods that are not on the approved list, they need to be disabled immediately.
