In light of near daily questions on these two items, I thought I would post this here.1. Switching the Map/Mission. Currently, the map/mission defaults to al-Rayak, which we have played ad naseum. (SFC Trooper moved us on to Malden last night.) If you're the first to get to the server and find yourself back on al-Rayak, do the following.
-load into the game
-- you will start on respawn island just respawn again -on the map screen, vote yourself as admin (upper left screen, under the "players" section)
(if you're not alone, others may need to also vote for you to get admin) -once in the game, toggle to the Command Channel using the period & comma keys
-hit the forward slash button "/" to enter text
-type "
#missions" (without the quotes) and hit enter
-hit continue at the next screen
-select "Malden 2035" on the left list, and the "506th Liberation Malden" template on the right list
-make sure "custom" is selected on the left most side (Server Difficulty Preset)
-hit OK to continue, and Malden should load up where we left off
Note: It appears only some people are able to get Zeus on the Malden map. I put in an issue ticket to ask the S4 to look at it.2. Getting Fortify Activated. -bring up your map screen, vote yourself as admin (upper left screen, under the "players" section)
-once in the game, toggle to the Command Channel using the period & comma keys
-hit the forward slash button "/" to enter text
-type "
#ace-fortify on" (without the quotes) and hit enter
-type "
#ace-fortify west big" (without the quotes) and hit enter
(type "medium" instead of big on other maps; you need big here to get sandbags) Notes:
-on other maps, you only have to do this once; on Malden, each time map is brought up
-GRAD trenches are not available on the public server, so you can ditch the e-tool
(sandbags have limited protection: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gUXGdp5s2_TAdmzfZvtl0tQbOSuPc1sD/view?usp=sharing)
-please clean-up your sandbags if the tactical situation permits (ace interact, remove object)
(helps keep the object count down) -
in official 506th missions, use sandbags only in urban areas unless it's a dire emergency; use trenches in non-urban terrain
