Press Release: Strategic Pause of US Military Operations in Moldova

All United States ground forces have withdrawn from the Moldovan Theatre of operations. In a move designed not to inflame the ongoing situation and to appease growing domestic rhetoric, the president of the United States has ordered the withdrawal in the face of increased separatist and Russian backed military pressure.

The United States government still maintains its support for the democratically elected government of Moldova and will continue to push for a resolution to the conflict. The president of the United States has publicly voiced his displeasure towards Russia and its president's continued grab for power and resources in the region.

In a very recent press conference on the situation, the president, when questioned on Russian involvement in Moldova, stated, “This is nothing more than a blatant attempt to line the pockets of the communist oligarchy that now rules in Moscow.”

Special Envoys and Representatives for the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Moldova, Romania and the United States met in Paris on the 25th of July 2024 to discuss the situation in Moldova.

Statements by the envoys on the focus of the meetings included:

Noted with grave concern the increased threat to security and stability in Moldova and the deterioration of the humanitarian and economic situation, with more than 50,000 Moldovans now in need of humanitarian aid, of whom more than half are women and children, and 2,000 just one step from famine.

Emphasized their concern about deterioration and multiple violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms of Modovans by Separatist forces since May 2024.

Commented on the increased involvement of mainstream Russian Forces, including de facto Russian PMCs. Stating that Russian strategic advances were potentially the first step towards further movement in the region.
