(S) During Operation Desert Fury (ODF) 02-25, Auxiliary Operation Bravo (AUX-B), Havoc 3-1 and Havoc 3-4 retrieved and documented illegal funds, sensitive documents and electronics from a Sons of Al-Karbouli (SoAK) combat outpost (COP) [GRIDREF 021063], to the North-West of Ramadi.
Fig. 1: Documents found within the SoAK COP (TS//SCI) While the documents have been sabotaged by the SoAK to an unlegible state, the electronics were still partially recoverable. From the resulting recovered intelligence, combined with the intelligence we found from the FUEL FACTORY [GRIDREF 078050] during ODF 01-25 TFC, S-2 Intelligence is now highly confident that SoAK recruitment and supply distribution is occurring at a high frequency within the Fallujah College of Medicine.
Fig. 2: Electronics found within the SoAK COP (TS//SCI) While still inconclusive, all found illegal funds and what we have seen of the SoAK's employed combat assets thus far suggest that Russia is the primary sponsor of the SoAK. This theory is supported by Russia's waning influence in Syria after the civil war's conclusion, which saw the fall of Russia's ally: Bashar al-Assad's regime, endangering its military bases and economic interests within the region. Moscow is unlikely to give up influence in the Middle East without a fight, and seem to have chosen the SoAK as one of their potential vehicles to reclaim lost ground in the ensuing Al-Anbar Governorate civil war.
