AIT Question
« on: March 18, 2015, 11:32:28 AM »
I have just completed Recruit Training, and had something I just wanted to clarify. I joined as a 68W, but I have to go through Infantry OSUT before Combat Medic School, correct? I believe that is what my instructor said but I wanted to clarify before signing up for anything.

Thank you.

Welcome to the 506th,

If you're here congratulations on passing Recruit training, You are nearly there to becoming a full member of the 506th IR Realism Unit.
Recently we have made a few changes to the way we do things, especially in the Medical side of the unit. (68W) The changes are as follows:

All potential Medical staff must complete OSUT, Once they complete OSUT they will be sent on to sign up for a CMS Class where they will receive their medical training.

Why have we done this?
The reason behind this are pretty simple, The paperwork is a lot easier for our guys dealing with reports, The fact that is people want to transfer around the unit into a different MOS it can be quickly and easy and the most important reason, So that all medical staff have an understanding of the way 11B do things here, From formations to weapons, everything. With our medical staff having that understanding the 68W MOS will run as a well oiled machine of death dealing and life saving.

My door is open to questions, along with my Chief instructors if you wish to ask questions. Welcome to the unit, See you in the field.
