Theater/Strategic-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
The 506th is now authorised to conduct the decisive strike against the SoAK's regional HQ near Fallujah and to destroy any remaining militant cells throughout the region. Much of Al-Anbar is now back under the control of the Iraqi Armed Forces, who have agreed to re-cooperate with BLUFOR activities and assist in blocking actions on bridges across the Euphrates river.
General Farid Asad's whereabouts are still unknown, and any found intelligence relating to this HVT, even tangentially, must be immediately relayed up the chain of command.
Local/Tactical-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
Suicide vest and IED-based threats and attacks against BLUFOR and INDFOR are now occurring at the highest frequency recorded throughout the deployment, likely as a result of SoAK desperation and the work of Qasim Al-Fana, a bomb maker residing in Ramadi. Troopers are reminded to maintain high awareness of suspicious individuals, objects or vehicles, and keep in mind the SOP for interacting with civilians.
Numerous tunnels in use by the SoAK to maneuver undetected across the AO were found during Phase 05 by Task Force Charlie, thus the presence of even more hidden subterranean features being actively utilised by the SoAK must be considered as a distinct possibility.
Special Info/Patrol Objective-specific Intelligence
HQ Highball and the surrounding strong points were recently analysed in a Reconnaissance Report and confirmed to be guarded by both SoAK forces and a private military security force dressed in all black. The nearby civilian village is home to mostly militants, but also some remaining civilians that are highly sympathetic to the SoAK, and will likely turn hostile to BLUFOR immediately or soon after fires are exchanged. The village is also home to a highly mobile enemy mortar team, who has been maintaining their cover by moving to a different civilian building after every fire mission, and must be taken out by troops on the ground to minimize collateral damage.
