TFAR installation issue(SOLVED)
« on: September 15, 2015, 10:55:55 PM »
I installed the mod according to installation guide and I think I did everything I was told to do. Everything else seems installed correctly except TFAR because whenever I try to load the game with mods it crashes with an Arma 3 message saying "Include file userconfig\task_force_radio\radio_setting.hpp not found." when trying to initialize addon. However, I did put the task_force_radio folder inside the userconfig folder along with the other mod folders inside the arma 3 folder.  If I start the game without TFAR and play single player missions like campaigns and scenarios, voice over net sound is not working. The radio output doesn't work. Is it because I messed up other mod installation maybe?
And what is up with not being able to play single player missions without mods activated after I installed them? and I can't play multiplayer missions with the mods activated.
I've been trying to figure what I did wrong for days. Please help.

Just sounds like your radio_setting.hpp file is corrupt. Try redownloading TFAR.

I tried it. It's still not working. It does the same thing.

Did you put the radio_setting.hpp file in the userconfig\task_force_radio folder in your Arma 3 directory?

Yes, arma 3->userconfig->task_force_radio->radio_setting.hpp file. Isn't it correct?
Userconfig folder should be outside of @TFAR folder isn't it?
It's driving me crazy. It's keep saying it's missing that radio_setting.hpp file even though everything is clearly right in its place. It's saying it's the only missing file but it's there in correct file location.

In the recruiting section of the forums, is a video I made showing how to install all of our mods that we use.

https://youtu.be/66ZyfqrIFLU?t=2m40s

The link above is set to where I install TFAR, and all its plugins. I'd give it a watch to ensure that you're installing everything correctly, as even renaming, or changing capitalization (especially with userconfig files) can bork it up. Also, at around the 12 minute mark, I show how to activate the TFAR TS3 plugin, and how to ensure that the versions correspond.

Hope this offers up some help. Let us know if there's still issues even after all that.

Thank you Sergeant Nelson but I've already watched it before I began installing mods and watched several times trying to figure out the issue but none helped. I did copying and replacing teamspeak plugins with new ones and adjusting setting in the teamspeak. The game just refuses to launch without having TFAR disabled saying it's missing that userconfig file . I named "userconfig" folder as the way it is correctly as well.

The only time I've seen that error pop up in the past, is when whether the 'userconfig' folder, the task_force_radio folder, and/or the .hpp file itself, were misnamed. If everything is in its correct and proper place, and that error still occurs, then it's likely something to do with the pathway from where the game is calling up the mod, and then the mod calling up specific files.

While this may not necessarily be the issue you're facing, it is the only issue I've encountered where it'll do such.

BTW when you launch that in single player and you hit the transmit button, it won't make the noise you'd expect like the static. You have to be online for that to work.

Where's the transmit button? And do you mean when teamspeak is online?

The transmit button is by default T. And no when your in multilayer in Arma 3. I think I misunderstood what you said. .  "If I start the game without TFAR and play single player missions like campaigns and scenarios, voice over net sound is not working. The radio output doesn't work. Is it because I messed up other mod installation maybe?" I was think you meant that when your using one of the tfar radios it doesn't make the transmit noise, and this is due to you being on single player. That only works with its full potential in multilayer.  I will be on saturday if you need some help figuring this out if you'd like.

Well, I meant whenever I command bot units, my character doesn't say anything. Bots do put the command into action but it does not reply like "copy" or "negative" unlike it used to before installing the mods.
I can't even get the TFAR to work so, I didn't quite catch what you were saying.
Thank you for all the responses. I will try reinstalling the game itself maybe.

The AI isn't replying because of a mod we have in the 506th pack called mrb_a3_voicestop. It gets rid of that chatter.

Is there any solution for that pathway issue? because it seems like that might be the issue.
