Operation Desert Fury Phase 03-25 - TASK FORCE ALPHA
S-2 Tailored Intelligence Brief//19JAN25
//SECRET//
Operation/Patrol Time:
1400 Charlie (UTC+3), 19DEC24
Weather/Forecast Information:
Current temp: 60 degrees F. Little to no wind.
Lighting/Visibility Factors:
Bright and clear day, with minimal cloud coverage.
Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) & Aviation Advisory Information
OPFOR's anti-air capabilities remain limited. No change to NOTAMs from previous phase.
Theater/Strategic-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
Initial intelligence gathering efforts have indicated that Russia is the primary sponsor of the SoAK as a bid to regain lost influence in the Middle East since the fall of one of their major regional allies: Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria.
As SoAK forces continue to lose ground, troops and assets to BLUFOR across the Governorate, they have become more antagonistic against the civilian populace. Reliable reports of villages reduced to rubble or mass graves across the Al-Anbar Governorate are becoming more frequent. To minimize further damage to Iraqi civilian lives, BLUFOR is now being deployed into more developed urban areas and assault any known OPFOR strongpoints directly.
Local/Tactical-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
S-2 Intelligence is now highly confident that SoAK recruitment and supply distribution is occurring at a high frequency within the Fallujah College of Medicine. While the city is supposedly under the control of Iraqi Armed Forces or local police, their hold on Fallujah is tenuous and their morale is low. INDFOR is not expected to hold ground against a committed offensive by OPFOR.
Special Info/Patrol Objective-specific Intelligence
INDFOR has set up multiple checkpoints throughout the city of Fallujah, and have been notified to give way for BLUFOR. The fortified compound to the South-East of the College was the site where a USMC detachment, who was providing security for US intelligence specialists, first came into contact with militia at the beginning of the civil war. The compound is now damaged and inaccessible.

Local/Tactical-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
Task Force Alpha has just stepped off around 2 hours ago per FRAGO 03-25 to assault and secure the Fallujah College of Medicine, which has been identified by S-2 with high confidence as a major OPFOR supply and recruitment hub. As a result, Task Force Charlie will have to bear the responsibility of securing a foothold within Ramadi proper alone.
SoAK forces have begun rolling out more specialised assets such as the Typhoon MRAP series of vehicles and the 2S1 Gvodzika self propelled howitzer. This development from Phase 02-25 only solidifies S-2's assessment of the connection between Russia and OPFOR.
Special Info/Patrol Objective-specific Intelligence
The Northern Sector of Ramadi is home to the industrial side of the region, and will have wider fields of fire than the other sectors. The Iraqi Armed Forces should still be maintaining checkpoints on the bridges connecting the Sectors, but don't be surprised if they leave their posts once the gunfire begins.
POI 4 is a major mosque for the entire city, and troopers are restricted from entering until direct orders to do so are sent down the chain of command.

COP Ocean is built on top of an unnamed dam that's still under construction, meant to alleviate the worsening droughts across the Al-Anbar Governorate in recent memory by controlling the flow rate between the Euphrates river and the Habbaniyah Lake to the South-East. The preservation of the dam's structural integrity is critical to the deployment's overall objective, and any damaged dam controls/infrastructure must be reported up the chain of command as soon as possible.
