    To start out, you have to go through recruit training and OSUT (infantry training) or medic school. Afterwards, when you get into your billet, you would take Air Assault School. There is also Flight school if you're a pilot, engineer's school, Mechanized Infantry, and Weapons (weapons squad)...

    Honestly, both units are extremely similar in the ways that they operate. WO1 Wilde hit the nail on the head, though. If you join either unit as an infantryman, you will have a very similar experience. The only difference is the 15th works with a few more support assets than the 506th does...

    It comes with experience. Don't sweat it. It takes time to get used too. Once you get going in your fireteam later on, you'll start to feel a lot more comfortable. OSUT instructors may get on your ass about it, but it's really not a huge deal. They're just trying to help out.

    2 operations per month are "required" if you are active, then you may "fill-in" in as many others as you like, depending on if there is an open slot.

    If aviation is filled after you complete training, then you can go do infantry/bradley/etc until a spot opens, then you can transfer in. It's first come first serve as far as spots go. The Rotary aviation and the 506th Infantry are both subordinate units of the entire 101st ABD (Air Assault.)...
