I do believe thats normal intention however someone please correct me if I'm wrong, we havent been able to place sandbags or dig trenches for some time now.

I think the problem I'm running into is the ground isnt flat where I want to place a long row along an airstrip or fence line and everything starts getting off angles. Is there a tool or something I should be using to make sure everything lines up perfectly in a straight line?

Ive been playing with Eden building this week as a hobby. Is there a way to add a full arsenal and add in quick compounds? I found its taking me a good hour or two just to place hesco barriers and when Im done Ive ended up placing them all wonky so they look out of shape and not on line.

Overall your best bet would be to do as other have suggested  a cheap SSD 120gb or so will greatly improve your boot up times, load times and slightly increase your load in times. Next would certainly be trying to see if your laptop does have 2nd RAM slot (most do these days) and waiting for a...
