What the instructions are referring to is in the @506 folder, there's two folders with @RHSUSAF and @RHSAFRF, and you just need to extract both folders into your mod folder where you installed RHS and it'll overwrite the correct files.

I can't give you any hard drive recommendations, but I'd advise you against moving ARMA onto an external drive as the writing speed is significantly slower and can cause performance issues. If you're that desperate, I'd move some unnecessary files over for the time being.

If you load a FTX or winter stand down mission in the editor, you can use the virtual arsenal on the boxes to adjust your load out. Simply using the RHS box won't give you the appropriate loadout and you'll be unable to load it in unit missions.
