If your on a i5/i7 they automatically boost to that speed, no action needed.
For example, my i7 4790k is Base clock at 4GHZ and boosts to 4.4 when needed out the box.
A 970 should be fine on a 1440p monitor, although you may have dip some settings here and there, Nothing major. More like AA or MSAA.
If I were you, I'd pick up 2 of the same monitors and use 2 for productivity and one for gaming.

Not the best by a long shot in terms of gaming, but reasonably priced, nice size. I also only game on one monitor, the other is for productivity / watching stuff while playing...
Straight up a GTX 970 would not be able to output a playable FPS at 5760x1080. That is a SLI type resolution. x2 970's would do the trick.
Gaming over 3 monitors is somewhat overrated. Having the bevel in-between monitors becomes a pain in the ass. If you were looking at a 3-way monitor gaming...
I've been in contact with their Dev's for a good few months now and they're really keen to see how many guys we can round up for a huge organized session for their media purposes.
The game is great, but bare.
I hope its a big learning step for EA, considering their active player count right now is shockingly terrible for a AAA title.
I think I'm the only one who is happy that a Star Wars game is back in production. The Audio / Visuals are fucking incredible.
