need a new computer in a month or so.

Don't get a 1TB ssd, unless you edit in RAW. Insane for the money, even now. Go 500GB SSD and get a large 7200RPM hard drive like a WD Black, maybe two of em in RAID 1, you'd probably breakeven on price.

    New headset

Get a nice pair of closed or open headphones and add one of these. I'd recommend browsing www.head-fi.org for the best selection of reviews. http://www.modmic.com/

    Building PC advice

I can't speak to that card, but when I first got my 7950 it whined like crazy. A few months later it stopped or decreased to where I can hardly hear it now....also helps that I got a nice and quiet case. Fractal design S. It is all luck of the draw when it comes to coil whine, usually the more...

Has anyone recieved Error code 0x8000033 when trying to back up windows

You're error is a result of messing with the partitions. What OS are you on? Shouldn't really matter, but this fix is for Windows 8.1 http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-update/cant-backup-81-using-system-image-backup-error/90e39029-ff0d-4318-8701-5f7078198cd0 Also see...

If it gets too hot, get naked (its a serious suggestion)

Anyone who is going to delid Skylake should be well advised that Intel thined down the CPU silicon and now de-lidding is very tricky and fragile. https://www.caseking.de/der8auer-delid-die-mate-fsd8-015.html Well worth the money if you are going to do this. There are also 3-d printed options...

Oh, well $599 is still....steep. At least it isn't $1500, that would be insane! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOHqG1nc_tw

Another Mod problem since updating to 1.54

pja305 is related to N'Ziwasogo and its sounds under pja305_sounds_new.pbo I'd ignore it. Sounds like the server has that mod turned on, not you.

    SQUAD launch on Steam

If this were on the winter sale I'd pick it up. Buying the arma 3 dlc and hitman for a dollar.

For people having issues with the Assault Server

Don't bother with these fixes anymore. Just download the maps in the new assault server pack in the armory.

My additions to my rig and questions

Nice. FYI that cushiony bit is an ESD guard so nothing you plug in blows your board. Just be careful plugging and unplugging since you cut it off. Now its time for a new cpu cooler!

    New comp

That's arma for you. I overclocked my pc with watercooling an additional 25% and saw about a 10 fps jump in single player. Then followed an optimization guide and better memory allocator and saw another few frame increase. Multiplayer I have seen ZERO performance gain. Arma runs like crap online.

    New comp

Have a look at the new Z170 Gigabyte boards, particularly the Gaming 7. Ignore the rating on pc part picker. This board takes the cake. There are some good Asus and MSI boards this time around as well, if you must pick something based on color...

    Liquid Cooling Questions

I just got a Fractal Define S. Very good case for WC setups and only $100. I had a HAF 922 and it was loud and dust prone, couldn't watercool in that case. Not the best as it is an 8 year old design. The define s can fit a 420 in the top and a 380 in front with options for all kinds of other...

My additions to my rig and questions

You can always backup files and programs using a utility like estodo or acronis or macrium reflect free. I would say back everything up as normal, and make a clone disk if you have a separate drive. Use the method in my post above using the Paragon software and follow the instructions in that...
