Welcome to OSUT,
I am TSgt Henderson and I am the Senior Instructor for class Kilo. I have been with the unit since January of 2024, and I am currently the primary JTAC for Task Force Charlie. Since joining I have enjoyed the very unique and immersive environment that everyone in the 506th provides. There's lots of cool people here and a lot of friends can be made. My assistant instructor SGT Whalen has been in the unit since November of 2024 and is currently in Stalker. SGT Whalen is always willing to help any way he can. Finally I hope to see you guys out there, and see what you guys got!!!
This is a professional setting and military courtesy is expected to be followed at all times during official functions. This means referring to everyone, including fellow students, by rank and name or sir/ma'am if the individual is an officer. OSUT is a 2-day course where you must complete both days to graduate, these classes must be taken in order. Each student has 45 days after the completion of recruit training to complete OSUT. The below table outlines what you will be learning each day, you will also find additional information you will need to know during your time in OSUT.
To sign up for the next cycle listed below reply to this thread with: Rank and Name followed by "will be attending class [insert class number]."
Example: PV1 Smith will be attending class 01-16.

The class schedule is as follows:
Day One
• Mission/History of the Unit

Day Two
• Team Communications
• Fire and Maneuver
• Patrolling Fundamentals
• Land Navigation
• Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT)
Class starts promptly as scheduled and students will be expected to take notes during class. When joining a server for official functions, you have a certain place within the slot selection screen you should select. Now that you are OSUT Students, you will enter the slot of OSUT Trainee when attending OSUT.
If the student is 15 minutes or more late to class, they will be considered absent and will not be allowed to join the class. Instructors will allow OSUT Students to connect to the server early to get mods downloaded from the server, on the day of training only, and no more than 3 hours before. This is to help ensure students' mods are working before the end of Day 1. Any student can be removed from class at the instructor's discretion for any behavioral or technical issues that arise.
