New headset

Snapped my headset last night. Need a new one.

Can anyone recommend a good 7.1 headset with no microphone for gaming.

I have a desktop microphone already.

I got a HyperX Cloud II around Christmas, has 7.1 (virtual) and I love it. It has a mic but it's removable. Not sure on prices because I got it on a pretty huge sale.

Under £150 if possible. Willing to go up to £200ish.
If you're willing to push £200, I just recently got a pair of Astro A40's and I love em, Sound is outstanding, Mic I would say is a 7/10.

If you want cheaper, Go with the Razer Kraken chromas.

Got my pair of Cloud IIs. I would certainly recommend them. They are very comfortable.

I have a Razor Tiamat I received from my wife for Christmas at the recommendation of one of my Best Friends.  I absolutely LOVE It!!!  All of my Comp Geat is Razor anyway and I have NEVER had any issues.

Razor Tiamat is worth every penny imo Staff Sergeant!

Any wireless headsets with a mic?  I tried these Turtle Beach - Ear Force Stealth 450 but they were too small and the earpieces light up BRIGHTLY for no apparent damn reason.

I was looking at Corsair Gaming VOID Wireless RGB Gaming Headset - Carbon (CA-9011132-NA) because they look bigger and you can turn the RBG crap off.

I like the Logitech 930's but I went through 2 pairs and they just don't last so I want something better.

My experience with g930s is terrible. They would not hold a charge and drop signal even when plugged in. They hold the rank of worst headset ever in my book. With that said, my experience was so bad, I'll never go wireless again.

Get a nice pair of closed or open headphones and add one of these. I'd recommend browsing www.head-fi.org for the best selection of reviews.

I went this route myself.

vmoda mic that I can plug into my headphones.

Modded closed cans headphones dt770
http://www.amazon.com/beyerdynamic-DT-770-Pro-ohm/dp/B0016MNAAI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1457319894&sr=8-2&keywords=dt770
as explained here to make them with a detachable cable,
http://www.head-fi.org/t/643648/beyer-dt770-pro-80-detachable-cable-mod

or sometimes plugged into my open cans Superlux
http://www.amazon.com/Superlux-HD668B-Dynamic-Semi-Open-Headphones/dp/B003JOETX8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457319864&sr=8-1&keywords=superlux

I also run an external DAC for the audio output instead of the onboard sound. (onboard sound is for the mic only)

Read up on it, you are better off with quality headphones as games do a good job of doing positional audio on their own. It is not that necessary to have a third party virtual 7.1 setup. I have changed from the logitech g35 surround headset to this new setup.

And on the plus side, if you invest on a good set of cans, you get to use them with your other audio equipment and not just the PC.

And if I can give a quick comparison of the G35 and dt770. With the G35 I felt when listening to a concert that I was in the back somewhere, put on the dt770 and I'm in the front row. First time I put on the dt770, I heard a sharp noise behind me to the right(in R6 SIEGE), whipped around and shot the guy through the wall. I was sold.

Cheers,

Well under your budget. Plus free copy of Rainbow Six Siege.
I actually sent my Astros back to buy a pair of these, They're superb. For whatever reason, I didn't buy the one that comes with the free copy of Siege.

Is what i have if you want a Wireless headset for a good price.

I understand you already have a mic, that being said I have a pair of Astro A50s and I love them to death. Had A40s before loved them as well. As long as Astro makes quality products I don't see a reason to buy a different brand. A50's are wireless 8 hour easy of play time, uses optical audio, and they have fantastic surround sound. Good deal.

Downside I had with the A40's was the mix amp rather than the headset. The Mixamp was consistently crashing, As well as many others complaining on the Astro forums complaining about it.
