Now if my application can just get accepted...![]()
SSG Nagel said:We are asking for patience with applications, there is a lot that goes into the unit, lots of documents to be written, etc. There are dozens of people behind the scenes consistently working.
CPT Hayes said:We review the application. If it is a former 15th Member we check their service record. We review for discharges or discipline issues. We accept and then find out where they want to be. We try to get people into billets they want and try to respect the rank they had before, while not inflating our own billet assigned ranks.
It takes awhile.
I think you are better off staying in the 15th and learning the basics from your fire team leader. I say this because is unit is VERY new and they are working out ranks and positions, etc, so it will take a lot of time before we have basic structures. The 15th is many years old so you will learn a lot, and is more developed so far than this unit. The methods in this unit will be similar to the 15th (I've been told) so you are better off staying.Michael said:I am a Pvt with very clean boots in the 15th. I feel confident that I am going to switch over to the 506th at some point in time. However, at the moment I like my Fire team leader, I feel I can learn a lot from him. At the same time I have a longer list of reason to switch than to stay. I am hoping that someone could tell me whether I would be of more use if I stay in the 15th and learn from them, or switch now before I am taught methods that may not apply to the 506th.

They do, but for our purpose they always seemed "tacted on". For now, they have been removed. But they will be back soontm

And does the unit use JTACs or are they on hold?
SSG Nagel said:The Army doesn't have JTAC's they come from the Air Force. I think command staff (I think, since im not on command staff) is going to try and find a work around, when they are needed. Lots of other stuff to figure out before that bomb needs to be dropped.

They may be re-designated to F.O. (13F), as they handle Artillery, mortars, and close air support. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/enlistedjobs/a/13f.htm

CPT Hayes said:To answer your question, if you are a new join to the 506th and not part of the mass transfer from our former unit you will be required to attend a recruit training session and then AIT which will likely be 3-4 2 hours game play sessions.
Recruit training is starting this weekend. Our Recruiting Chief is coming online this weekend as well. There will not be a significant delay in processing new joins. AIT (Advanced Individual Training) is still under development but is expect to be completed by the end of next week.

Air Force a/c. Air Force TACP.
http://www.romad.com/wordpress/tacp-411/tacp-job-description/
Same ideal as having a navy corpsman embedded with marine units
For the few that may be unfamiliar:
"A USAF TACP, is usually a team of two or more United States Air Force TACP journeymen or craftsmen (AFSC 1C4X1) aligned with a conventional or special operational United States Army combat maneuver unit to advise ground commanders on the best use of air power, establish and maintain command and control communications, and provide precision terminal attack guidance of U.S. and coalition fixed- and rotary-wing close air support aircraft, artillery, and naval gunfire. A TACP always includes at least one Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) qualified to control attack aircraft. It can also include an Air Liaison Officer, who is often JTAC qualified and serves in a senior advisor capacity. JTAC teams are primarily stationed with and support army combat units."

I'm curious, are there any mods that add the AH-60U DAP? What exactly are the weapons on the DAP anyways (I've actually never heard of it before)?
H-60L DAP: The Direct Action Penetrator (DAP) is a special operations modification of the baseline MH-60L, operated by the U.S. Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.[97] The DAP is configured as a gunship, with no troop-carrying capacity. The DAP is equipped with ESSS or ETS stub wings, each capable of carrying configurations of the M230 Chain Gun 30 mm automatic cannon, 19-shot Hydra 70 rocket pod, AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, AIM-92 Stinger air-to-air missiles, GAU-19 gun pods, and M134 minigun pods.[98] M134D miniguns are used as door guns.[90]

I seen people doing the Cpl and Sgt courses, much like the 15th. Im pretty sure the US Army doesnt call them these. Is there any way to make it more like the army by calling it Warrior Leadership Corses (WLC's)?
Reference: http://www.goarmy.com/soldier-life/being-a-soldier/ongoing-training/leadership-training/warrior-leader-course.html
For example
CPL201 = WLC201
CPL202 = WLC202 ETC.

I was thinking about that this morning, and I thought it'd be cool if you guys could have one of those to run through rather than have to make a base out of a terrain like Chernarus or Altis or whatnot.
For my thoughts on doing something like NTC...D ODette said:I'm curious: If it was feasible, would you make a Ft. Bennings map for BCT/AIT (I don't know if any AIT is at Bennings) and an NTC map for FTXs prior to deployment?

SSgt Nagel said:Logistically, there is no value. While it might not be much, its just an extra needless hassle with different maps that people need to download, and different missions on different maps to keep updated.
THIS
Also, if you have been to Ft Benning or Ft Irwin in real life you would never want to go there again, even in a video game =P.

By the way O'Dette NTC isn't the main facility anymore they use JRTC. I've been to Ft. Polk and fuck all of that.
