Operation/Patrol Time:
- 0530 Local
Weather/Forecast Information:
- Current temp: 68F Today's High: 88F with mostly clear skies, humidity dropping from 43% to 21% by 1400 local. Wind out of the WSW at 5-10 mph, with occasional gusting up to 12 mph.
Lighting/Visibility Factors:
- Greater than or equal to 7 miles. Sunrise at 0634 & sunset at 1926.
Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) & Aviation Advisory Information
- MANPADS and anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) are becoming increasingly common throughout the theater, as more advanced systems become more difficult to supply and utilize by the NWRC. Identification of these threats will rely more than ever on ground forces due to the impacts that these systems have against dedicated ISR platforms, and their mobility makes high-altitude imagery limited to pinpointing general areas of deployment. That said, self-propelled air defense systems are still popping up with very little notice in the area around Kirov, so remain vigilant and observe proper standoff and terrain masking techniques to avoid detection and engagement from such threats.
- Self-propelled air defense systems remain present throughout the Severkuldzha plateau. Additionally, coalition air operations are advised extreme caution against possible air-to-air engagements initiated by hostile aircraft that may still be launching from both central Mary and Severkuldzha.
Theater/Strategic-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
- Portable electronic warfare jamming suites are in continued use by NWRC regulars, and theater-level J-2 Intelligence continues exploitation operations in order to develop effective countermeasures against the deployment of these systems. If located, collection and photography of these assets are critical in developing such countermeasures. With that, emphasis is again made that if personnel encounter such systems and do not possess the technical means to disable or deactivate EW platforms, the preservation of communications and navigation capability for ground forces must be made a priority, and the terminal may be destroyed by whatever means necessary, and a report detailing these effects- specifically any technical capabilities such as range and frequencies affected, be sent up as part of an FIR.
Local/Tactical-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
- There continues to be a decline in approval by local civilians with current relief efforts- specifically those tied to the UN, but also via American forces operating in both Mary and Ahal provinces. Simply put, the relief isn't getting to them fast enough, and the intensity of the fighting has driven as many of the locals into the arms of the NWRC by way of the militia groups who can feed, arm, and organize them into fighters and collaborators. This drastically increases the threat of skirmishes and violence throughout the region, potentially even in areas already cleared or under relief operations by coalition forces.
Special Info/Patrol Objective-specific Intelligence
- COP WILLIAMS has been heavily prepared by NWRC and militant fighters, and several motorized and mechanized vehicles are confirmed to be operating in and around the COP itself. Optimal leveraging of the established support-by-fire position to the east in order to backstop any ISR limitations stemming from anti-air threats will be critical to identifying threats that may originate from the village of Tawarah and the neighboring hamlets to the west and south of the COP's location.
- Signals Intelligence has indicated increased chatter in and around Tawarah, as well as the neighboring areas to the south and west of Tawarah, so a counterattack against the COP will be almost assured if a follow-on raid to disrupt and rout hostile forces from these areas. Additionally, GOLIATH has detached an engineering team in order to enable rapid mobilization and repairs of the COP upon its capture. The engineers will be flown in via helicopter once the COP and its immediate airspace can be deemed safe.
