While the DNAF was confirmed to be using MANPADS during the previous phase, their retreat from the AO means this threat is no longer relevant to our AO. Aviators should still be cognizant of auto cannon fire from BMP and BTR platforms.
Theater/Strategic-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
Coalition troops have successfully beaten back the blitzkrieg assault of the Islamist Republic of Duresh from both the Al-Anbar Governorate in the West of Iraq, and the Erbil Governorate in the North. All DNAF troops are now in full retreat back across the border, mostly via diplomatically-agreed-upon channels such as the Rabia and Al-Qa'im border crossings along the Iraqi-Syrian border, and the Tamarchin border crossing along the Iraqi-Dureshi border.
All militant factions except for the Lions of the Tigris (LoT) within Al-Anbar, and therefore Anizay, have united under the name of Al-Abna' al-Watan, or Sons of the Homeland (SotH) to resist against the invading Duresh military. The LoT were intrinsic to the Dureshi strategy by acting as a proxy force, sowing chaos and weakening defenses prior to the invasion. While the invasion is effectively over, the SotH will continue to be a key player in Iraqi national politics in the weeks and months to come, as their shadow leader, former Iraqi Army and ISOF Brigade Commander General Asad Farid Abadi, continues to consolidate power for his publicised return after he was disgraced due to the dissolution of his previous militant group, the Sons of Al-Karbouli, in 2024.
All 1-506th troops must now focus on eliminating the remaining LoT pockets in order to complete the security mission, solidify relationships both with local populations and partner Iraqi forces, and transition to handover operations before exiting the theatre entirely.
Local/Tactical-level News & Intelligence Updates, Activity, and Analysis
As a result of political maneuvering via inside channels, General Asad Farid Abadi has managed to come to an agreement with the Iraqi Armed Forces and the federal government and secured combatant immunity for the majority of SotH militants in exchange for fighting back against Duresh. Therefore, all coalition troops must recognize the SotH as INDFOR, and exercise strict visual identification, deconfliction from remaining LoT militants, and maintain fire discipline until further notice.
Since the LoT's leadership was entirely comprised of Dureshi Special Forces and Intelligence personnel, all remaining LoT militants are now left mostly disorganized and leader-less after the Dureshi military have cut off all ties following the failed invasion. Seeing how capital punishment is still very relevant in the Iraqi legal system, the Lions will no doubt go down fighting instead of having to face the noose.

FOB ROSS is the former hotel construction site that accompanies the Ziggurats to the South-West, which itself was a disguise for militant activities before the invasion. Militant commanders previously used the facility as a meeting point, entering and exiting via construction vehicles, and siphoning funding and resources from the forever-delayed construction schedule. The compound is surrounded in castle-style walls that were purposefully built to imitate the historical defenses within the region, and will no doubt contain intelligence regarding militant activities.
The SotH have been informed of our activities, and will be avoiding the area for the next 24 hours to avoid BLU-on-GREEN incidents.
