PC Crashing Issue

Over the past few weeks, I've had an issue with my PC crashing unexpectedly. The only major change I've had is switching to a new monitor. When checking system logs, I see an error popping up of unable to read one of my hard drives, could that cause a random complete PC crash? I've also had issues where my screen goes black and I can hear my GPU spin up to about 2000RPM which causes me to have to do a hard reset. My second theory is that my GPU is going, which really sucks. If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears. Before anyone suggests, yes I've updated all my drivers and all that. PC specs as follows:

I have a 970TI that I'm going to try and use for a bit to see if it's my GPU dying or my PSU
 
So I'm running my 970 for now, so far hasn't crashed which makes me believe it's been my 1070TI dying, which sucks because there's no way I can afford a new graphics card.
 
Check the warranty on it. I do not know how long you have had your 1070TI for, but some brands have long warranties and the least they will do for you is RMA it. Also, make sure there are no overclocks on the card and it could be overheating. Check the temps while gaming.

Temps are fine, I have a program open that monitors it and to control fan speed. As for the warranty it's like two years old at this point and I can't even remember where I bought it from (thanks brain injury).
