Recording TS and TFR question

Hey guys,

I'm looking to record Arma gameplay and I can't find a way to get all sounds in there. Right now I'm using Shadowplay because I've noticed there's no impact on my FPS and the videos come out pretty nice compared to OBS. I have Shadowplay set to record my mic when I use direct chat (same key I use for PTT on TS). I have audacity but I have no idea how to get it set up. Here's how my system is set up:

Game sound through computer speakers, all comms through my USB headset.

I'm able to get game sound in my Shadowplay recording (obviously) and I can get direct chat since my Shadowplay PTT is the same as my TS PTT. The problem is getting TFR sounds from my headset to be recorded. My hotkeys for TFR are different than direct chat so my outgoing comms aren't picked up. Nothing is recorded through my headset, either, so I'm not getting any incoming chat. I'm pretty sure I'll need Audacity for this but I can't figure out how to set that up. It's a little confusing even typing this up but hopefully you guys have an idea of what I'm trying to work out. If not, let me know and I'll try to paint a better picture.

I absolutely agree with the link 2LT Johansen provided. Having teamspeak and your own microphone separated from the in-game audio (which I think shadowplay records in the same audio file) means later when you're editing you can easily adjust moments such as increasing volume if you mumbled something, removing sections where voice chat is distracting etc is immensely helpful.
 
If you're looking for something with a low impact on your FPS, I would recommend using Mirrilis Action, I've been using it for a few months and never had any problems with it and from my experience with Dxtory it usually takes a good chunk of your fps. Anyway,  here's what the audio settings section looks like: http://i.imgur.com/yJFGgRD.png having 2 different audio sources is possible.
Also having multiple "push to record" buttons isn't possible (yet) and you can only have one, so since we're using multiple hotkeys to talk in Arma, I've simply set my microphone to always record and then I edit the audio in Audacity to remove background noise and results are good.

Another note, if you tweak OBS Multiplatform (their in development version) it can work pretty well. Has support for as many push-to-talks as you want. I got it set up for Ctrl+Caps, Caps, Mouse 4 and Mouse 5 (not TS, just to speak if I'm streaming). To record you need to up the recording bitrate and play around with the codecs to get it just right.

excatly, OBS works fine... BUT you will have to play with the settings and find what works for you. After that, easy and can record multiple audio inputs as once.
 
I think I found a way to get it working after a few hours of trial and error. I downloaded Dxtory and was able to record only my PTT audio, nothing in the background, which is what I wanted. I used alt for it's PTT, which is my direct chat in TS and in game. All I did was edit my hotkeys for TFR to include alt in the modifiers. I have a G700s which I use the thumb buttons on to use my radio. Before I had O set to long range and U set to short range (because finding spare hotkeys in Arma isn't easy haha. Never use my watch anyway), with shift as a modifier to use additional channels. Now they're just set to alt+O and alt+U. Since people in your vicinity can hear you when you're talking on the radio regardless of physically using direct chat, I don't mind using direct and the radio simultaneously. I was also able to get both game sound and my headset sound working. The only minor gripe I have is that anytime someone joins, leaves, gets kicked, whatever, that sound gets picked up through TS going through my headset. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with what I have and I can deal with that one tiny issue. Thank you all for the help and especially to the LT for that youtube suggestion. That's what allowed me to get the software all set up.

If I'm playing a different game where all this hotkey stuff isn't needed, Shadowplay will be my go-to.
